Patek Philippe introduces a range of new timepieces
From world-firsts and successors to exciting new line extensions, the brand’s new debuts showcase Patek Philippe’s fields of excellence…
Earlier this month, one of the world’s most prestigious watchmakers unveiled two new boutiques within the UAE. Located within The Dubai Mall and The Galleria Al Maryah Island Abu Dhabi, Patek Philippe president Thierry Stern was present to open these two new boutiques. And now, watch enthusiasts have even more reason to visit with the announcement of a series of new novelties. Here’s a look at our favourites…
1.Nautilus 5811/1G
The new two-part case construction in white gold is backed by the caliber 26-330 SC (reminiscent of its 5711 predecessor), while the blue dial colour keeps thing in familiar territory for this timepiece. The case is water-resistant to 120 metres and composed of two parts – an interesting reminiscence of the original 1976 Nautilus. It also features a new pull-out piece lever system that allows the winding stem to be pulled out from the dial side.
2. 5373P-001 Split-Seconds Monopusher Chronograph
This highly exclusive timepiece for left-handers has been made specifically for for those who wear their watches on their right hand. To do so, the movement has been reversed and the chrono pushers as well as the crown have made their way to the other side of the dial. The crown is now at 9 o’clock instead of 3 o’clock. Key features include a platinum case and modern looks that emphasise its sporty and contemporary style dial. Patek Philippe has also reworked the aesthetic appeal of the dial, endowing it with a charcoal-coloured aspect and a vertical satin-finish.
3. Aquanaut Luce Rainbow Chronograph
Patek Philippe has extended its feminine line presenting the first self-winding women’s chrono timepiece. It features 50 baguette diamonds and 52 coloured sapphires. The inner row on the bezel consists of 40 flawless rare white Top Wesselton diamonds (2.05 ct), while the outer row on that bezel is set with 40 sapphires in the colours of the rainbow.
4. 5990/1A Nautilus in steel
This special timepiece is one of the rare Patek Philippe watches with steel cases. It has now been endowed with a new blue dial with a radiant sunburst finish and a subtle black gradation to the periphery. It’s backed by the self-winding caliber CH 28-520 C FUS and supports a travel time feature (as well as useful indications such as a day/night indication in the local and home time zones), date functionality and a flyback chrono.
